Oncological Surgery (cancer)

We provide for the following areas of expertise:

  • Head and neck (e.g. parotid gland, thyroid gland, various cancer types of the tongue etc.)
  • Mammary (breasts), sentinal node biopsies, reconstruction
  • Gastrointestinal (intestines and other abdominal organs)
  • Skin cancers (melanoma, basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma)
  • Soft tissue (sarcoma, cancers originating in muscle, fat etc.)
  • Endoscopic (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) surveillance of the intestines for / after surgery for an intestinal cancer (stomach/colon cancer)
  • Endoscopic placement of gastrointestinal stents for temporary relief in cancer types which block the intestinal canal (obstructive types of cancer)
  • Subcutaneous placement of intravenous chemotherapy apparatus (A-port)

Surgery can be executed open (the conventional technique where the skin is cut open) or laporoscopic (access to the abdomen is obtained by making a small incision and using a camera to see inside the abdomen, so-called keyhole surgery) depending on the type of surgery.
